So you are planning out your first (or 256th) pole barn project and you are wondering what is the best option to protect your investment and make sure the foundation lasts a lifetime? You have come to the right place for some quick ideas!
While there are many options out there, we tried showing in this short educational video the basic five that are used on most buildings in our region. (Midwest) Some are definitely superior to others!
No doubt a full concrete foundation such as the Perma-Columns or Wet-Set brackets from Perma-Column are the best at making sure you never have to worry about foundation post rot, but if those just aren’t in the budget, there is other great alternatives such as Post Protector sleeves to separate your post from ground contact, especially if you are building in a wet area with not a lot of drainage.
